Photo-sharing
application Snapchat has included its platform with a new feature. The new
feature will allow users to share ‘Stories’ beyond the application itself. In extra
words, Snapchat users will be able to share their ‘Stories’ with persons who
are not a part of the application.
The new feature have been launched as a
part of Snapshot’s effort to renew the platform experience for its users.
According to a report published by Android
Headlines, Snapshot’s primary object is to draw
more users to its platform to send tough competition to Instagram and Facebook.
The latest feature is available on Snapshot in a select few market,
including the United Kingdom, Canada, and Australia. Its global rollout is
expected to take place in the next few weeks on together, Android as well as
IOS platforms.
“With the new change coming to Snapchat, users will be able to
send Official Stories, Our Stories, and Search Stories to friends and family,
for example, via email or text by pressing and holding on the Story tile in the
Discover section so that the mini-profile shows up,” reads the report by
Android Headlines. The share option is also accompanied by a special
‘Subscribe’ option as well. Snapchat makes numerous other sharing options,
apart from sharing stories via email and text, available for users. Users can
just copy the link and share it on Instagram, Facebook or even WhatsApp.
The Stories and Search Stories is expected to be available
outside Snapchat for over a month and will disappear after that. As mentioned
previously, Snapchat has visibly been working towards revamping its platform
into becoming a more robust competitor against the likes of Instagram and
Snapchat. One can observe a vigorous response, especially after Snapchat’s
disappointing financial results during the third quarter of 2017.
